SCLMA's mission now is threefold:
To provide support
for gay, lesbian, and bisexual physicians via social functions, educational sessions, and
peer support.
To support gay,
lesbian, and bisexual physicians-in-training through annual scholarship awards and social
functions.
To provide
leadership, advocacy, and consultation on gay, lesbian, and bisexual health issues by:
educating health
care professionals and the general public;
providing a
referral panel of gay, lesbian, and bisexual sensitive physicians;
opposing
discrimination in the health professions;
supporting
development of public health care policies relevant to the gay lesbian, and bisexual
communities.
